For the next couple of days, you will be researching and answering questions on a specific department, independent agency or government corporation from the list below. When you hand this in, be prepared to give a brief summary of the group you covered. Please type your responses on a separate sheet of paper. The estimated length for the total of the answers to these is probably about 1 ½ pages—don’t go crazy (double-spaced, of course!). This is due Friday, February 3.
The issues you will be addressing:
1. What is a basic definition of the issue area for which your government body is responsible? In other words, what different things does your choice deal with? You might be able to find the group’s mission statement on their web site.
2. Who is the current head of your group/department/agency?
- What is his/her background?
- Do they seem like a good fit for your group/department/agency?
- Why/why not?
* What group/segment of the population is being affected?
* Is/Was the program successful? Explain in detail how you reached this conclusion.
4. General (Please elaborate for the following):
Is there any other general or relevant info you can include? Add something relevant to your group. Try to find something random and interesting!
